Bruce’s battle: Cancer setback

Bruce Mansfield along with Phil Brady have been part of 3AW’s Nighline for years. Last night came the news that Bruce is battling prostate cancer but he sure proved he still has his sense of humour.

Bruce was on holidays in Europe when his feet swelled and deep vein thrombosis set in but further investigation led to the doctors to discover the cancer.

Bruce is not expected back behind the microphone while he undergoes treatment but Doctors here at home are optimistic the cancer was detected early and that Bruce will make a quick recovery.  “So many people have had this and pulled through,” said Bruce.

Bruce spoke with Phil Brady as well as Simon Owens on last night where you can still hear his sense of humour in fine form.
