Nights back local at 2UE

Tonight see’s the return of local night programming for Sydney’s 2UE with Mike Jeffreys.

The Fairfax station was taking 4BC’s Walter Williams program networked from Brisbane. Survey 1 saw 2UE halve its night audience and the station has quickly moved to make a change.

Insiders say it was announced internally by 2UE Content Director Clinton Maynard late last week, which in part said  “in light of this week’s survey result it is clear the program wasn’t the right fit for our audience”.

Mike Jeffreys has been part of 2UE for a couple of years and recently covered nights on the station over summer.

What happens to 2UE local night programing longer term will not be sorted until the merger between Fairfax and Macquarie Radio network.
