Radio on your wrist

While we have to wait a few more weeks yet (or more?) for Android Wear to land here, already in UK its turning out to be one of the must have items and so where’s does radio fit it?

The UK Radioplayer App makes it real easy to listen on the move, right now listeners can enjoy hundreds of UK radio stations, controlling the Radioplayer app from their watch, while keeping their phone safely in their pocket.

So who’s behind Radioplayer?  Radioplayer is a not-for-profit company backed by the BBC, Global Radio, Bauer Media, and RadioCentre – their aim is to make radio listening easy on connected devices.

Take your pick Android Wear Smart Watches when they hit the market here from Motorola, Samsung and LG. No word yet if a similar type of industry backed APP is on the drawing board here.

Apple’s version, the Apple Watch, is expected to launch in early 2015, so that will be next on the radar.
