He’s one of the world’s best-known interviewers, Sir Michael Parkinson and he is joining Melbourne’s Magic 1278 line up from this weekend.

Every Sunday at 12.00pm, Sir Michael will present "My Kind of Music", an hour-long journey through his favorites from Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Ella Fitzgerald to Michael Buble, Paul Simon and Elton John.

“It's an enormous privilege and coup for Magic 1278 to secure the services of one of the world’s most respected broadcasters,” says Magic 1278 Operations Manager David Ferguson. “I'm certain ‘My Kind of Music’ will prove to be enormously popular with our audience.”

Australians know Sir Michael best for his long-running television talk show, “Parkinson”, from 1971 to 1982 and from 1998 to 2007.

In a career spanning more than 50 years, “Parky” has interviewed some of the world’s biggest stars, including Fred Astaire, Orson Welles, Sir Paul McCartney, George Michael, Madonna, and Marlon Brando.
