A swinging success for 4BC’s Patrick Condren

Staff Writer

In a complete moment of madness, 4BC Mornings presenter Patrick Condren asked his producer, Heather Stott, if she would like to swing off Brisbane's Goodwill Bridge.

Of course, there was a reason behind Patricks request. 'Save the Children' has created Australia's first bridge swing which is generating a high number of donation pledges to the foundation.

On Friday Patrick crossed live to Heather as she got into her harness and all appeared to be  going well. After the news it was time for the live swing. Could she do it?

Heather was in place on the edge of the Goodwill bridge but couldn't take the final step.

Suddenly the phones lit up with people pledging money if Heather would swing ,but she still couldn't do it.

Patrick decided to come to Heather's rescue and headed into town with a remote broadcast mic strapped to his body so that listeners wouldn't miss a thing.  With a hug from Heather and cheers from onlookers, the daring Mornings presenter finally took the plunge. Listeners couldn't get enough of the live action with talkback and social media abuzz.

As a result Patrick and his team raised over $3000 for Save the Children.
