Nova’s Red Room is heading to Melbourne

Staff Writer

Canadian pop star Alessia Cara will perform for Nova’s Red Room in Melbourne on Monday 27 February.

Cara’s pop hit Scars to Your Beautiful was the fifth most playing song on Australian radio last week, up one spot from the previous week. The official music video is nearing 32million plays on YouTube and over 241million song streams on Spotify.

She made her debut in May 2015 with the hit single Here which was recognised as one of the top 20 pop songs for summer by Billboard and ranked 21 in Rolling Stone’s 50 best songs for 2015.

Six months later Cara released her debut album Know It All.

Having won a Juno and SOCAN Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, she released the single’s Scars to Your Beautiful and Wild Things in 2016 and is currently receiving airplay with How Far I’ll Go which appears on the soundtrack for the Disney film Moana.

Cara made her TV debut in 2015 on The Tonight Show Starring Jim Fallon and in February this year performed on Saturday Night Live.

She will perform to an invite-only audience in Melbourne, with listeners only able to win their way to the latest Red Room by listening to Nova or registering at novafm.com.au, where you can also watch all of Nova’s previous Red Room performances.

Established in 2012, Nova’s Red Room works closely with record labels and promoters and has seen over 140 artists perform including Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Usher and Sam Smith.

In 2014 Nova’s Red Room Global Tour made its debut, taking NOVA Entertainment’s live music brand international with shows in the US, followed by a second tour of London, Dublin and Dubai in 2015 and Manchester and London in 2016.
