New Zealand’s ‘Float-chella’ a hit for ZM

It might not be on the scale of Glastonbury or Coachella, but New Zealand has a unique music festival of its own: ZM Float.

Thousands of people turned out last weekend for a pool party on an epic scale, located on Lake Tikitapu on the New Zealand North Island.

Wearing bathers, floaties and sunscreen, they rocked out on a 28-degree day for the second ZM Float. The 100% Kiwi line up included Stan Walker, Drax Project and Mitch James.

ZM drive show hosts, Clint Roberts and Queensland comedian Bree Tomasel got up on stage as The Hot Mess Express.

Content Director Ross Flahive says the day went off without a hitch with the weather turning it on,

“It was an amazing day. It’s such a unique event to be part of and we’ve had nothing but fantastic feedback from those who attended,” he said.

“Radio station concerts are a dime a dozen, but there’s nothing quite like Float.”

Float is now in its third year and it’s the second time it’s been staged at Lake Tikitapu.
