“Never heard of him”: Kyle hits back at Mooney

Staff Writer

With the first survey period for 2019 kicking off yesterday, it hasn’t taken long for most big market shows around the country to get back into the swing of things.

Host of new Triple M Sydney Breakfast show Lawrence Mooney sounded his arrival, declaring he would be gunning to take the #1 spot in the market off current FM leaders Kyle and Jackie O.

Unsurprisingly, Kyle took the opportunity to hit back this morning on KIIS 106.5, while reading out some personal texts from axed Today host Karl Stefanovic.

Karl had apparently texted saying “I bet you’re scared of that Lawrence Mooney”, to which Kyle responded “who is he? Never heard of him”.

Can someone tell me what the difference is between Triple M and Macquarie Sports Radio? They sound the same to me – except for the fact that Triple M play one rock song an hour.

Nick Triple M are rock sport and comedy on FM and are pulling enough numbers that you can go out in a tie and sell it to blokes. The Mac Sports one, it’s on AM getting no numbers and is void of comedy and rock. If you are saying the mmms is just sports waffle like Alan’s hate child, you’re wrong – but deep down you already know that… not too long to wait for the winter Olympics now mate.

Try

MMM 6-7 songs per hour vs zero in breakfast
MMM No Sport in breakfast vs sports breakfast show
MMM 12/13 songs per hour vs zero across the day

but identical apart from that
