NBN Co pulls ads from 2GB

Staff Writer

NBN Co has pulled its advertising from 2GB after negative comments were made by Ray Hadley and Andrew Moore prior to reading a paid live commercial.

The presenters both made it clear they did not support NBN Co on the air with Moore saying ''This is a paid announcement on behalf of NBN Co and in no way reflects my views".

Hadley said on the air ''NBN Co has asked me to read a commercial – not about how wonderful it is, which I would not do – but [because there is] some confusion about how it is going to work.''

NBN Co had booked a week of advertising around the country last week. 2GB was the only station which has had its advertising pulled. The Chairman of the Macquarie Radio Network Russell Tate commented ''If you pay Ray Hadley to do a live-read, Ray does a live-read the way Ray does a live-read''

An agreement regarding the payment for the live ads with 2GB was yet to be determined with NBN Co.
