Mel & MC undergoing ‘intensive counselling’

In the aftermath of the tragic outcome to the Hot 30 prank call, hosts Mel Greig and Michael Christian are reportedly 'fragile' and undergoing intensive psychological counselling.

They are not the only ones at Southern Cross Austereo who are fragile.

Sydney publicist Vicki Heath was said to be inconsolable when first told of the news of Jacintha Saldanha's death yesterday, and CEO Rhys Holleran was visibly shaken during yesterdays media conference.

However, Mel & MC are in the spotlight more than anyone, and their images have been displayed in news outlets around the world. The abuse they have been receiving on social media is intense, and SCA are understandably deeply concerned for their mental health.

2Day FM's Sandy Kaye said; “Mel is in a very fragile state. We are giving them professional care, they are receiving counselling.”. Mel's father has said that he does not know where she is and that he is very concerned for her.

It is believed that Mel Greig is presently being accommodated in a secret Sydney hotel, whilst Michael Christian has returned to Melbourne to be with his family.

Southern Cross Austereo have confirmed that the duo will speak to the media at some point, however this will be driven by their state of mind.

This afternoon (Sunday) SCA have convened an extraordinary Board meeting to discuss what is the largest crisis the company has ever faced.
