Major milestone for Triple M’s Grill Team

The Triple M Grill Team has reached a massive milestone. Since debuting on August 17, 2009, it’s racked up 2,000 shows.

That’s a lot of airtime, so let’s do the maths here. They tell us 2,000 shows have seen them do around 3, 200 interviews and approximately 23,000 calls.

But wait! There are more numbers. Over 2,000 shows that’s around 47,000 off-colour jokes. Mark Geyer has travelled more than 200,000 kilometres driving from Penrith to Sydney’s CBD every day.

Gus Worland has consumed more than 8,000 eggs and 4,000 pieces of bacon for breakfast and Matty Johns has mentioned Newcastle 3,500 times.

Following a format similar to that pioneered by Triple M Melbourne in the 90s, The Grill Team has held fast to pillars of sport and rock with a fair bit of comedy thrown in.

Week-long celebrations culminate with a live show for listeners this Friday morning.
