Live ‘TEAM Effort’ in race against time

The people at Bad Producer Productions are closing in on a million downloads for its suite of podcasts, including TEAM Effort.

With that production, they’re going with something a little different this weekend. They’re taking it to the Catfish Comedy Club in Fitzroy for a live performance in front of a sold-out crowd.

Bad Producer director Jay Mueller says a live show is something they’d been mulling over for a while.

“We’ve wanted to get TEAM Effort out of the Business Cupboard and on stage for months and this seemed like a good idea at the time.”

The first live show will feature Ash Williams, Ed Kavalee, Tony Martin and Lachy Hulme. I’ll continue in my role as producer and fact-checker and Matt Dower will be in charge of all things sound.”

The Catfish Club audience will be treated to two shows: Ash and Ed will record an episode of The Ash Williams show prior to TEAM Effort.

“That show is a trial of Ed’s recording equipment. Ash wants to keep the gear; Ed wants it back because he claims Ash hasn’t delivered on promises.

“The audience will decide whether Ash gets to continue to use Ed’s equipment and continue The Ash Williams Show. Once the legal formalities are complete, TEAM Effort will take the stage.”

Once the shows are done and dusted, it will be a race against time with both the trial and the TEAM Effort shows to be released as individual episodes on Monday, August 27.

With the Catfish show sold out in a matter of hours when it was announced a few weeks ago, they’re now planning additional shows later in the year in Sydney and Melbourne.
