Lisa Ashcroft is no longer the general manager at 2TM/Onefm Tamworth.

Radio Today understands Ashcroft’s employment ended abruptly last Monday, May 28.

Long-serving business manager David Perkins also departed the station.

Gavin Flanagan has replaced Ashcroft. He previously held the position from 2005 to 2011.

When contacted by Radio Today, a spokesperson for 2TM/OneFM confirmed that Flanagan has replaced Ashcroft and is now serving as GM, but was unable to comment further.

Multiple sources who previously worked at the station told Radio Today that they’d observed a culture of workplace bullying over a number of years.

“[Ashcroft] fired so many people over the years that she kept a little black book of her firing conquests,” one source said.

“[Management] would sit around and joke about how many people have gone through the station since [Ashcroft] had taken over as manager,” said another source.

Radio Today understands that in the vicinity of 25-50 people lost their jobs during Ashcroft’s tenure.

Every day her focus would change from person to person,” a source claimed.

Radio Today reached out to Ashcroft for comment.

Radio Today also spoke with Flanagan, who confirmed that he has returned to the station as GM.

Same sort of management behaviour rampant at some capital city stations too. Unfortunately too many of these types have the gift of the gab, or great relationships with their national bosses and so they continue to fly below the radar.

Gavin Flanagan has done an absolutely amazing job in the short time he has been managing again. New direction, music and culture have made 2TM and 92.9 two of the best stations around. The future is bright for Tamworth.
