Lehmo & Howie host The Hot Breakfast during survey break

Former Assistant Editor

Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann returned to Breakfast radio this week for the first time since being unceremoniously dumped by Gold FM last year.

He’s joined by Mark ‘Howie’ Howard on Triple M Melbourne for The Hot Breakfast as part of a raft of changes across most commercial radio stations this week and next.

The pair were off to a rocky start, accidentally playing the old intro despite pre-recording their own new show intro for the week.

They later attempted to find Howie some new work, joking that he was now out of a job with Network 10 losing the rights to the Big Bash Cricket for the forthcoming season.

The second survey ratings break of the year also sees KIIS 106.5 airing Best Of Kyle and Jackie O. Other stations hosting Best Of shows include Nova 96.9, WSFM, Nova 100.

Conversely 2DayFM have decided to play music, with the “greatest hits of your childhood airing”.

KIIS 101.1’s Jase & PJ, and Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev and Byron are staying on-air this week (with the Fox FM team to take a break next week instead).

Macquarie Media has taken the opportunity to launch its new Macquarie Sports Radio Breakfast shows this week.

The survey three period begins next Monday, April 22.

Jase & PJ from KIIS are also on this week. They haven’t had a break since they started this year apart from public holidays, and they began a week earlier than the others. They are a new show to Melbourne so that’s obviously a clever tactic
