KIIS FM’s Hughesy & Kate leave producer speechless with a $80,000 act of kindness

KIIS Network’s Hughesy and Kate brought their producer to tears live on air yesterday, after they surprised her with a very generous gift ahead of her birthday.

In a segment earlier in the week, it was revealed that Sacha French – who has known and worked with the pair for more than 15 years – owes a large debt incurred from her time at university in New Zealand where she originally borrowed $41,000.

Despite already having paid off $52,000, the Executive Producer still owes a whopping $80,000 thanks to accrued interest.

Hughesy & Kate went rogue, ditching their usual segment and calling Sacha into the studio to read a card out on air.

The gesture quickly garnered comments from listeners, with one writing: “You two never stop amazing me. The support and generosity is beautiful. Everything you do for others is selfless. And in traditional Hughesy and Kate style you always do it with a giggle. Thank you both for just being you.”
