KIIS 106.5 renews Mardi Gras partnership for third year

Former Assistant Editor

ARN has announced that its Sydney station KIIS 106.5 will continue as an official media partner of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival in 2019.

This will be the third consecutive year of the partnership, and KIIS FM’s involvement is set to be bigger than ever, including a huge lineup of activations and integrations across the two weeks of Mardi Gras.

This year’s theme for the festival is ‘Fearless’ and the festivities will kick off on February 15.

In 2018 KIIS FM Breakfast team Kyle and Jackie O were joined by their newsreader Brooklyn Ross and Kyle’s girlfriend Imogen Anthony atop the KIIS parade float, and the float is set to return again this as the celebrations wrap up with the famous parade on March 2.

ARN chief marketing officer Anthony Xydis said ARN staff from all areas of the business will be involved in the festival this year.

“ARN are proud supporters of diversity and inclusion. Since 2017, ARN’s partnership with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras has been supported and embraced by people across the business, making it not only one of the most exciting times of the year but also one of the most important for further strengthening ARN’s values of energy, authenticity, creativity and action.

“The festival is one of the best times to be in Sydney, bringing people from across the world and all walks of life together in a true celebration of equality, diversity, and love. It’s a perfect fit for KIIS 1065 which celebrates and embodies Sydney’s vibrant culture.”

This is a partnership executed just as much on-air as it is on-ground. ARN certainly put their money (and airtime) where their mouth is when it comes to Mardi Gras. Partnerships like this should be applauded – well done KIIS.
