Kate Langbroek shares story of violent home intruder
Hit Network Drive host Kate Langbroek has revealed a terrifying incident at her Melbourne home last Friday night.
She suffered bruising to her arm in what she’s described as a “crazed, violent, terrifying attack” outside her St Kilda home.
Speaking on the Hughesy and Kate show, she told listeners it began when her babysitter was approached by a man, who began swearing at her and tried to get into her car.
Langbroek and her husband Peter went to investigate and were abused by the man as they tried to shut the front gate to keep him out.
It was then things became even more terrifying, when she realised the front door was open and the children and babysitter were inside.
“I run inside, slam the door, and praise be I put my leg up against the door to brace it,” she said.
“Next minute — thump — he tries to kick the door in. Madman’s at the front door.”
Langbroek called police where a man was arrested at the scene, and she praised the way that they responded to her call.
Taking to Twitter after the incident, she called on her local MP and Housing Minister Martin Foley to help “stop the degradation of St Kilda Hill.”
She then posted images of her arm bruise, and revealed that she had received a personal call from MP Foley, but added “we await your action”.
.@MartinFoleyMP Thanks for your call yesterday. This is the bruise I sustained trying to keep that “vulnerable” resident from kicking our front door in on Friday night. Children inside. The real vulnerable are the decent citizens of St Kilda. We await your action. pic.twitter.com/ajszymt2qt
