Jodie & Soda’s surprise for special Phil Collins fan

Staff Writer

Mix 102.3 Brekky duo Jodie and Soda have definitely made a name for themselves for giving back to their listeners.

Recently they heard a story of a woman named Racheal, whose husband David tragically passed away of a sudden heart attack, leaving their three children.

Rachael and David were big fans of Phil Collins, who is touring the country at the moment, so with help from her friend Karen they pulled off a very special gift.

Jodie and Soda organised for musician and producer Thom Lion (aka Aquaman) to pretend to be a busker next to a cafe where Racheal was having a coffee, and he began playing Racheal and David’s favourite song ‘Groovy Kind Of Love’, adding her name into the lyrics.

When Racheal found out what was happening, Jodie and Soda told her that she had won tickets to see Phil Collins and go backstage before the concert.

It was a very special moment for the whole family, and for Rach, the tears began to flow…
