Aboriginal & Torres Straight Islander National Representative, Writer Services
This newly created role provides an essential link in the APRA AMCOS National service between the organisation, its members and associated stakeholders in the Indigenous community.
The role will be based in either Melbourne or Brisbane depending on location of successful applicant.
The Indigenous representative forms an integral part of the national team and would be required to liaise with all staff across the team and departments where there is a functional relationship.
This position requires the incumbent to be responsible both for the informing and administration of the APRA AMCOS indigenous policy and external advocacy and relationship management.
As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander National Representative, your duties will include but not limited to:
Provide high quality APRA AMCOS membership service to existing and applicant members
Identify potential Indigenous members and applicants
Manage Indigenous ambassador relationships to position APRA AMCOS as advocate for indigenous music
Establish consultation sessions with the ATSI Ambassador group, liaising with the director of Member Relations in the process
Provide advice and input on APRA AMCOS national Indigenous strategy and policy
Co-ordinate the APRA AMCOS events and Indigenous national outreach
Deliver presentations to music industry colleges, TAFE and tertiary institutions as part of the APRA AMCOS educational outreach program
To succeed in this role, it is critical that you possess:
Deep understanding of Indigenous protocol and culture
Existing networks with the Indigenous music industry
Music Business experience
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
Outstanding presentation skills with the confidence to communicate to large groups
Effective project management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Customer service focus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail
Time management skills
