Jennie Lenman secures new role as newsreader at 5MU & Power FM

ABC Radio Adelaide producer and Mix102.3 & Cruise 1232 weekend newsreader Jennie Lenman has joined Radio Murray Bridge’s 5MU & Power FM.

Jennie, who was also named by Radio Today in a list of the great newsreaders of the future in 2018, will be the host of SA Today on 5MU.

“I am delighted to be joining the Power FM and 5MU team,” Jennie said.

“With a passion for broadcasting and a drive to share people’s stories, I’m thrilled about the opportunity to present local news bulletins and host ‘SA Today’.

“Radio is a powerful medium – I love the way it welcomes listeners like old friends, captures imaginations and empathically informs through shared experience.”

She also paid tribute to Murphy, who she replaces. “I have some rather large shoes to fill; it’s no secret that Claire Murphy was incredible in the role and was adored by workmates and listeners alike.

“I look forward to the challenge of taking it on with the support of an incredible team. I also look forward to meeting listeners and giving them a platform to share what is most important to them.”

PD Mel Dzelde welcomed Jennie to her “dynamic team”.
