Jake Chapman departs Rebel FM

Former Assistant Editor
Ash and Jake

Jake Chapman has announced he is departing Rebel FM after a three-year stint with the Gold Coast radio station.

One half of the Ash and Jake Breakfast show, Chapman has decided to pursue other interests outside of radio.

“We’re sad to lose Jake,” says Rebel FM general manager Cheryl Jowitt.

“He has enormous talent and is a great communicator. Over the past 15 years, we’ve only see three changes to our team, so this opens up an amazing opportunity for the Rebel brand.”

“This is the perfect time to restructure the breakfast show, bring in new content and new people to the mix.”

Jake finishes up in February, but in the meantime, Rebel FM is on the lookout for a replacement.

They’re after someone with experience, a great communicator, who can identify with the 35+ age demographic. It helps if you live and breathe rock music.

“We’ve built a successful brand based on our love of rock music and supporting local events,” said Jowitt.

“Ash and Jake have raised thousands of dollars for local charities and organisations and have been actively involved in promoting issues surrounding men’s health issues”

“Rebel’s success in the market is based on it’s ‘realness’. We’re real people talking to people about real issues. We’re not shying away from tough subjects and that really resonates with our audience.”

Rebel FM’s studios are based in Helensvale on the Gold Coast and Rebel FM is the local station in over 30 markets across regional Queensland and New South Wales.
