Brad Leask misses out on back-to-back Iron Imager awards

NOVA Entertainment’s Brad Leask has just missed out in the defence of his Iron Imager title at the Worldwide Radio Summit in Los Angeles.

In front of a live audience, the network imaging producer was pitted against Sam Wickens from Capital FM London. They were tasked with producing an original imaging piece for a format that wasn’t announced until the day of the competition.

Provided with the same script, they drew on Benztown’s 23 production libraries and voiceover talent roster to create a Top 40 promo incorporating Alexa and Siri voices to promote smart speaker skills.

In the end, it was Wickens who was declared the winner and presented with the championship belt by Benztown director of programming and imaging Scott Mayton.
