iHeartRadio announces new Surf Life Sounds digital station

Surf Life Sounds is iHeartRadio’s brand new digital station, spawned as a result of a new partnership between Surf Life Saving NSW and iHeartRadio Australia.

The new station is set to feature a mix of this summer’s hits and all-time favourite beach tunes, as well as playing a role to promote water safety with important safety messages for swimmers and beach-goers.

The name was chosen by Surf Life Saving NSW, and CEO Steven Pearce is keen for the station to celebrate everything beach-related.

We are very excited by the concept of having our own radio station, celebrating everything that is great about surf lifesaving and the beach and featuring great tunes everyone can enjoy this summer,” he said.

“We are looking forward to our first foray into digital radio, working with the iHeartRadio team to make Surf Life Sounds as much a part of our beach and surf culture as our Aussie surf lifesavers.”

Creating a radio station for such a committed and important community as Surf Life Saving NSW is a real honour for iHeartRadio,” added iHeartRadio CEO Geraint Davies.

“We believe that members will appreciate the ability to stay in touch with all the important club information and updates even if they have missed the latest newsletter.

“The fact that the members had a competition to name the station just shows how engaged and excited the surf lifesaving community are about their new station.”

Surf Life Sounds can be streamed on iHeartRadio and data-free on select Optus mobile plans.
