Ian Chappell to call Macquarie Sports Radio’s Summer Of Cricket

Former Assistant Editor

Macquarie Sports Radio has added former Australian Test captain Ian Chappell to its Summer Of Cricket lineup for the 2018/19 season.

Macquarie’s coverage of the cricket starts this Saturday, with the opening Commonwealth Bank Women’s T20 match between Australia and New Zealand.

Macquarie Sports Radio will also follow every ball bowled of the Domain Test Series, Gillette One Day and T20 Internationals, the KFC Big Bash League and the Commonwealth Bank Women’s International Series.

“I’m really looking forward to my fifth season of cricket with Macquarie Sports Radio,” said Chappell.

“Cricket on the radio affords commentators the chance to expand their thoughts in painting a picture for the listener and this is a really enjoyable challenge.

“The big series this summer is Australia against a strong Indian side led by the charismatic Virat Kohli.

“This is the best attack India has ever brought to Australia and they’ll match up well against the home side’s strong bowling line-up. I’m expecting an entertaining and really competitive series.”

Macquarie Sports Radio launched in April, and airs across 954 AM in Sydney, 1278 AM in Melbourne, 882 AM in Brisbane and on DAB+ in Perth.

“It is a great privilege to again have Australian cricket royalty, Ian Chappell, as part of Macquarie Sports Radio’s Summer of Cricket,” Adam Lang.

“He is one of the finest experts and storytellers in the game. Ian’s contribution to Macquarie Media has been enormous and once again emphasises our strong position in broadcasting this great game.”
