HT&E appoints Kieran Simpson as Pure Gold digital content director

Former Assistant Editor

Kieran Simpson has been appointed digital content director of ARN‘s Pure Gold Network and Conversant Media’s The Roar.

The appointment was confirmed to Radio Today by a spokesperson for ARN, after Simpson tweeted “Super pumped to announce that as of today, I am back at ARN as the digital content director for the Pure Gold Network and sports site The Roar!”

The spokesperson also flagged that Simpson’s appointment is part of the ongoing, broader integration of ARN and Conversant Media, both owned by HT&E.

“Kieran will be focused on delivering the digital content strategy across the Pure Gold Network and The Roar,” the spokesperson said.

“Kieran will work alongside Natalie Babic, digital content director, who joined ARN in 2018 with a focus on the digital content strategy for the KIIS Network, The Edge, Techly and Lost at e minor.

“Both roles report to Rosie Squires, head of digital content for ARN and is part of the broader integration between ARN and Conversant Media.

Simpson returns to ARN having worked in digital content and social media for the Matt and Meshel show on KIIS 101.1.

He’s also held roles at Macquarie Media and Nova 100, and most recently was a digital content producer at SCA’s 2DayFM in Sydney.

The move to integrate ARN and The Roar comes a short time after the departure of ARN CEO Rob Atkinson, with his duties assumed by HT&E managing director and CEO Ciaran Davis.

Chatting with Radio Today in December, Davis suggested integration between the two companies, saying that there’d be moves to go about “simplifying the structure around HT&E and ARN.”

HT&E sold its outdoor advertising arm Adshel to Ooh! Media for $570 million in October of 2018.
