Hot Tomato shares the same amount of music with Sea FM as it does with Gold FM

Former Assistant Editor

Gold Coast’s Hot Tomato shares 26.8% of its music playlist with 90.9 Sea FM.

Strangely enough, Hot Tomato shares the exact same percentage of its music with 92.5 Gold FM.

The stats have been unveiled in a recent data dive by AirCheck, who analysed music crossovers on the Goldie and in Brisbane, following news emerging this week that Hot Tomato has been purchased by Grant Broadcasters.

The most played track between Hot Tomato and Sea was ‘Promises’ by Sam Smith and Calvin Harris’, while between Gold 92.5 and Hot Tomato played George Ezra’s ‘Shotgun’ most.

Looking at Brisbane, Hit105 and Nova 106.9 shared the most music, with 38.8% of their tracks (654) shared.

Loud Luxury and Brando’s ‘Body’ was the most played tune.

AirCheck airplay data is used exclusively by The Music Network, Radioinfo, Radio Today and Mediaweek publications.

Yeah Hot Tomato is hits and memories format which has been around for decades starting with KZ in Melbourne.
Same format 2DAYFM are trying to pull off albeit unsuccessfully at least Hot Tomato are winning. That may change with the takeover by Grants.
