Hit96.9’s Josiah Shala and Elly Chaney on their very “sirius” stitch up

Staff Writer

Pranks are par for the course in radio and have been for decades. Sometimes they work and other times they fall flat.

Occasionally they go international and can generate some great local content that’s fun and not mean spirited.

That’s the case with Josiah Shala and Elly Chaney from Hit96.9 Shepparton, who managed to stitch up American radio host Nicole Ryan.

Elly Becomes Josiah's Jealous Girlfriend!

Elly really had to channel her inner "psycho girlfriend" for this stitch up on an American radio host!

She’s part of the Morning Mash Up on Sirius XM, where Josiah’s mate Ben Harlum is a senior producer. That personal connection has seen Shala and Ryan share Insta banter and ‘likes’ before some flirty texts from Josiah took it to the next level.

In steps Elly, who got on the phone and pretended to be Josiah’s pissed off girlfriend, which produced some great content. Fortunately, Ryan was a good sport about it.

Not bad. I didn’t think sca allowed their teams to do prank calls. Maybe the CDs allowed this one.

Easy content if you ask me. Did they approve prank calls again on the network?
