Hit107’s Ryan Tothill moves to 2DayFM as assistant content director
Southern Cross Austereo has announced staffing changes in Sydney and Adelaide, with a new role for Ryan Tothill and an expanded position for Matthew O’Reilly.
Totill is leaving his position as content director at Hit107 to move to 2DayFM Sydney, assuming a role as assistant content director.
“Tots has done a terrific job as content director of Hit 107 for the last two years and I know he found the decision tough when he was offered the Sydney role,” Hit national head of content Gemma Fordham told staff.
“Tots is a seasoned radio pro and will be an excellent asset to the 2DayFM content team as we continue to forge 2DayFM forward.”
Meanwhile, the job of Triple M Adelaide content director O’Reilly expands to now include content direction at Hit107.
“Matty has proven himself to be an excellent leader and, with his team, has taken Triple M to its greatest success in 15 years,” Triple M head of content Mike Fitzpatrick said.
“We know he is the right person to take on the challenge of this new role and do an outstanding job across both.”
So correct me if I’m wrong but Adelaide Hit no longer has a dedicated CD or a dedicated MD?
Both are now shared?
I’ve seen country stations with more staff! Good luck with that.
Decision tough? I wonder if the choice was to join the Centrelink line or move to a job you don’t want to do. Have to love radio and the spin!
This is so bad for the industry. Could this be the start of many CD job cuts by SCA?
Ohhh so Totts decided did he? Seems legit. Hit 107 lowest ratings in a long time, deserved a promotion to a less senior role at wait for it….. 2dayFM. Ice. Eskimo’s. Gemma.
Well done to Matt o’Reilly. He’s a star with an impeccable background and will take hit107 to the next level. Shrewd move by SCA.
Second time they have done this and the first time it famously lasted for a few months TOPS.
Why?? Let’s launch a BRAND NEW breakfast show in Adelaide & have a CD spread too thin to effectively grow them…………….solid plan
Hit Adelaide and Nova dont have CD’s any more.
Underestimate Father O’Reilly at your own peril… he’s the Sachin Tendulkar of Programming.
KIIS Melbourne doesn’t have a dedicated CD either. In a market of over 4 million.
It could be true though that maybe their ratings are an indication of that lack of attention, despite a decent breakfast offering.
Noones screamed about job cuts at ARN however.
KIIS Melbourne and Sydney only have ACD’s, no CD’s. Despite KIIS Syd being the top rating FM station. DB manages the two ACDs well. Runs smoothly.
