Hit Mid North Coast’s Bodge & Rachael crashed Ray Hadley’s show to hug him

Hit Mid North Coast’s Breakfast team Bodge and Rachael took advantage of Ray Hadley‘s visit to the Port Macquarie race club for his final show of last week, as they attempted to show the veteran broadcaster’s sensitive side by hugging him live on air.

‘Operation Cuddle Ray’ was spawned from earlier efforts to get revenge on 2GB’s Hadley for stealing Bodge and Rachael’s local traffic reporter Alex Strachan.

Strachan had been covering for Ian Wallis on the Ray Hadley Morning Show last week, and on Tuesday Bodge and Rachael called Hadley out on air for stealing Strachan, with a pretty average impersonation.

Hadley hit back in good jest, pointing out that he’d “never heard about either of [Bodge and Rachael]” but would be following them closely now, before inviting the Hit Mid North Coast duo to come and visit him in Port Macquarie later in the week.

Naturally, the response was to come up with ‘Operation Cuddle Ray’ which was put into action with mixed success, but all in all he was a great sport about the whole thing and even posed for an excellent photo to wrap things up.
