Gold FM receptionist hires young talent

Staff Writer

The Melbourne community radio station SYN has long been a fertile breeding ground for commercial radio talent, with names like Hamish & Andy, Ryan Shelton and Scott Pape all having emerged from the station.

Now, 'Tom & Olly' (left) who host 'The Afternoon Breakfast Show', more traditionally known as the Drive show, are intending to follow in those footsteps.

With Tom just out of university, and Olly in final year, they are rapidly approaching the 'cut-off' age of 26 to be eligible to work on SYN, so decided to look for a new job to fit their forthcoming maturity.

It didn't go well. Unless the Gold FM receptionist in Melbourne carries some weight in programming circles.
