Dynamic Duos: Zach & Josh on how “every living situation” is an opportunity for content

“How can I turn every situation I’m living into content for the show… and how can I make it interesting.”

It’s a question that Triple M Modern Digital hosts Zach and Josh ask themselves frequently.

Fresh out of Southern Cross Austereo’s ‘Hubble’ talent development program, Zach Miller and Josh Perring now broadcast in the lunch slot on Thursdays and Fridays.

The boys were paired up by the Southern Cross Austereo Hubble program, although hearing their excellent chemistry one would be forgiven for assuming they’d been working together for years.

Zach and Josh say it was a pretty smooth process, quipping “we both uploaded our profiles and then SCA swiped right for us.”

They call their show ‘The Smoko’, and the boys want their time in the ears of the listeners to be an escape from the harsh realities of the day to day for listeners.

“A tough week at work, there’s a lot going on in the world… A lot going on in your life.

“And you just want to download and vent to all your friends. That’s the kind of environment we want to create on our show”

They admit that only broadcasting a couple of days of the week can be limiting, but that it also helps them to differentiate themselves from duos who broadcast daily.

“We can’t really do the story arcs… for now we’re forced to be different,” they say.
