“Don’t be that guy”: Triple M’s Tom & Olly back marriage equality campaign

Staff Writer

Triple M night time comedy duo Tom & Olly have thrown their support behind the vote on marriage equality,

Posted to Australian Marriage Equality’s Facebook page yesterday, the clip shows the pair at a pub having a conversation about the debates – and in turn, legislative decisions – that have occurred throughout Australian history.

“I don’t know. I just think this one is different,” Olly (in character) responds to Tom with after his history spiel.

The clip ends with the tagline “Don’t be that guy” in reference to denying the yes vote – and it’s a issue that hits closer to home for the pair than people realise.

“With Tom being gay and myself often being mistaken as gay, we obviously wanted to contribute to the marriage debate in a positive way,” Olly Morris explained.

“And being on Triple M we made this video particularly with males in mind, and tried to present them with some cold hard facts that will hopefully illuminate the way forward regarding the vote.

You can watch the video in full below.

C'mon Australia, don't be THAT guy OR the guy who simply forgets. You have until THIS Friday (Oct 20th) to request a new survey, and Oct 27th to post it. Every YES counts. Make sure yours does.Love Tom & Ollyat Triple M Melbourne
