Dave Cameron is SCA’s new Melbourne GM

Staff Writer

Southern Cross Austereo has announced the appointment of Dave Cameron as the network’s Melbourne general manager.

Dave will be responsible for the day to day running of SCA’s Melbourne operations.

On his appointment, Dave said: “After two decades of working across SCA’s content, I’m excited to now be taking on a broader management role in Melbourne.

“Melbourne has been the home of so many of SCA’s biggest and best shows, and I’m proud to be working alongside all our amazingly creative and dedicated Melbourne staff who are responsible for bringing our audiences great audio and visual entertainment.”

Dave will report to chief operating officer John Kelly from July.

John said “Dave is ideally suited to this new leadership role in Melbourne. He brings his extensive experience and expertise in content across a number of SCA businesses in several locations. ”

Dave started with Austereo in Melbourne in 1994, and his career in content with SCA has spanned 23 years working across both the Triple M and Hit networks in both local and national content roles in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, including 11 years leading Fox FM to consistently be Australia’s most listened to radio station.

Over the past twelve months Dave has held SCA’s national content and development role, overseeing key national shows, leading SCA’s digital radio strategy, managing talent development, and creating new SCA partnerships including the major live concert series, “RnB Fridays Live”.

In addition to his new Melbourne GM responsibilities, Dave will continue to lead SCA’s national talent development unit and digital radio strategy.

Having known Dave since 1996, it was always inevitable that he would end up in such a position. His radio programming knowledge is second to none, his leadership is unique and un questionable, and his desire to create content has been inspiring. Great to see one of the good guys finally make it to this level. Congrats DC. Snowy
