Danny Lakey steps in for Ash London on Hit National Nights

Former Assistant Editor

Danny Lakey is Ash London‘s temporary replacement on Hit National Nights.

A spokesperson for Southern Cross Austereo confirmed to Radio Today that Hit Mid-Dawns presenter Lakey (‘Wakey Wakey It’s Danny Lakey’) will take over the reins from next week as part of the reshuffle.

Regular host of nationally syndicated Ash London LIVE, Ash will be moving to 2DayFM Breakfast with Grant Denyer and Ed Kavalee as of next week, as a temporary replacement for Em Rusciano.

Rusciano announced her departure from Em, Grant and Ed this morning, and revealed she would not be returning after her third child is born.

Ash will fill in on Breakfast until a permanent replacement for Em is announced.

Lakey started on Hit Mid-Dawns in October 2017, following stints on the Hit Central Queensland, Hit90.9 Sea FM Gold Coast, Hit92.9 Perth and Star 106.9 Townsville.

He is also paying $8.00 to be the long-term replacement for Rusciano on Breakfast, with Sportsbet already setting up a betting market for her permanent replacement.

With Danny moving to evenings whilst Ash fills in on Breakfast I wonder if Danny’s overnights show will be continuing with a fill-in presenter? Considering the hours I’m thinking maybe not
