Crocmedia confirms AFL Nation commentary team

Crocmedia has assembled an expert commentary team to head up its AFL Nation program which will broadcast to over 240 frequencies during the season.

Premiership coaches, dual-premiership players, Brownlow medallists and AFL Hall of Famers make up a star-studded line up in 2017.

Among the names are Robert Walls, two-time all Australian Kane Cornes, Terry Wallace and Hall of Fame member Ben Hart.

Returning to lead the call team for another year is Peter Donegan and Sandy Roberts, with acclaimed commentator Stephen Quartermain making his long-awaited return to the commentary box to call Saturday afternoon football on AFL Nation.

“We’ve been able to put together some of the best, and most entertaining, experts in the industry,” said Crocmedia head of football Julian Bayard.

He added: “The 2017 AFL Nation call will be heard by more people, in more markets, than ever before. To be able to have that call delivered by some of the most respected voices in the game is a huge thrill.”

The call will be heard across almost all of regional Australia and matches in metropolitan markets in Melbourne (SEN), Adelaide (FiveAA), Perth (6PR) and exclusive coverage in Sydney (2UE) and Brisbane (Magic 882).

“We’re excited to be able to take our call to a massive new audience, often providing multiple calls of the same game for different markets around Australia,” Bayard said.

The major changes is the dumping of the AFL Live brand after 6 years as well as being heard in the Capital Cities not just the regional areas and no more Rex Hunt (he is now at 3AW doing a Saturday Morning fishing segment and hosting the post match show).

I will miss Rex calling the AFL especially the great rapport he has with the team especially with Sandy Roberts and Robert Walls, but I will be listening to Rex’s Post Match Show as well as his fishing segment on Saturday Mornings, hopefully he will call some games on 3AW in the future.
