Craig Hutchison hails “power of sport” in Crocmedia survey results

Former Assistant Editor

Crocmedia boss Craig Hutchison says the “power of sport, on radio in particular, has never been stronger”.

In a press release today, Crocmedia said that syndicated Sportsday and Sportzone programs across the country had grown in surveys for metropolitan areas in Survey #1.

Crocmedia’s CEO Hutchison was pleased with the results, also heralding the performances of shows including Big Bash Nation, despite SEN 1116 falling to a 2.4% share of listening (-0.7)

“Our aim is to grow audiences and we are impartial as to where fans consume us, believing in choice,” Hutchison said.

“This survey again shows the power of sport, on radio in particular, has never been stronger and audiences are enjoying consuming where and how they want.

“Our brand partners are enjoying connecting to audiences in many different ways.”

“We congratulate Macquarie and NOVA Entertainment, our station partners, for their results with us and look forward to continued growth now that NRL and AFL seasons begin in earnest.”

Sorry, but you can gloss it up as much as you like but the ratings are pathetic. You’re selling a load of old crock.

A 2.4 per cent audience share is a disaster for 1116 SEN. The add breaks last forever. Whateley is a pompous so and so. No wonder the ABC asked him to leave. KB was great on mornings.
