Clemenger BBDO takes out Round 4 of 2018 Siren Awards

Former Assistant Editor

Melbourne creative agency Clemenger BBDO has dominated the fourth round of the 2018 Siren Awards.

The agency took home the single category and overall win with their advertisement for Aussie non-profit Beyond Blue called ‘Sound Booth’.

Ray Ali and Carlo Mazzarella from the team said their philosophy when it comes to radio ads is to keep it simple.

“Working on the anxiety campaign, we learned how crippling a condition it can be, often stopping people from finishing things they want to achieve. We thought that this could be a pretty powerful concept to explore.”

“It’s very rewarding to see an ad for a not for profit charitable organisation take out the round win,” said CEO of Commercial Radio Australia Joan Warner.

“The high calibre of entries continues to make it very difficult for
the Sirens judging panel.”

The winner of the campaign category was an ALDI Australia series of ‘Epic Reminders’ ads, created by agency BMF.

The team behind the ad was Cam Blackley, Alex Derwin, David Fraser and Dantie Van der Merw.

Rumble Studios’ sound engineer Cam Milne took out the craft category, also for an ALDI ad ‘Epic Reminders – The Outdoor Room’.

The 2018 Gold Siren Winner is set to be announced in may 2018, with the winner and their client winning a trip to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
