Christian Hull: Complete Drivel Live

Christian Hull has racked up hundreds of thousands of views for his YouTube and Facebook videos, which went on to spawn the Complete Drivel podcast. Now, he’s taking things a little further.

Hull is about to hit the road with a series of shows loosely based on the podcast with special guest appearances by fan favourite ‘Trish’.

“I did a tour in November and that was my first taste at doing live shows.  I enjoyed doing the few shows and decided to do a national tour. My Facebook bubble won’t last forever, so I need to do these things while the opportunity is there.

“It’s not really a stand-up set.  You need years of practice to be able to write and pull one of those off. My show is more just stories from my life told in my classic overly dramatic way.”

His ‘day job’ sees Christian working on the Hit Network’s Carrie and Tommy show and says both have been supportive with Little offering some advice along the way.

“I work on hands down the best show and I’m super lucky and super spoilt and Tommy is going on tour as well which helps.

“He is doing all the comedy festivals; so I sometimes hit him up for advise. His audience is about 900 times the size of mine so he has this all down pat!”

Hull is being a little modest. The “Complete Drivel Live’ tour kicks off with two shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in March with further shows in Adelaide, Canberra, Gold Coast and Brisbane, winding up in Sydney in May.

“Technically it’s a national show but that missed Tassie, so I had to politely ask if we can go via Tassie too. That’s in the works so fingers crossed.  But, I’m the most useless human!

“The touring company does all that stuff and just tells me the day before what’s happening. It’s so cool because I feel so famous. I have drivers everywhere and they all know exactly where to go. One even presented me with champagne and strawberries!!!! I feel like Mariah.”

Hull plays The Comic Lounge Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31 with an extra show on Saturday, April 6.

Tickets available at comedyfestival.com.au and full tour details can be found here.
