Canberra’s 2CA and Perth 6iX just played their music libraries in full

Former Assistant Editor

Forever Classic 2CA and 6iX‘s latest tactic has seen both stations spin their entire music libraries in alphabetical order.

The A-Z Of Forever Classics kicked off on Boxing Day, with songs played in order by song title, with both stations finishing up the endeavour last weekend on Saturday prior to midday.

The first track was Len Barry‘s 1965 classic ‘1-2-3’ and last was ‘Zoom’ by Fat Larry’s Band.

“This fun summer tactic has seen both stations inundated with loads of positive listener feedback loving the music and the fact that we threw out the rules. Well done to the execution from the A-Z mastermind Marc McCreadie and both our on-air teams in Canberra and Perth,” said program director Pete Davidson.

“Everyone passed the spelling test with flying colours.”

Although the A-Z of Forever Classics is finished, the Endless Summer will continue across all Forever Classic stations in the Capital Radio Network.

Can anyone tell me what songs were playing in the 30 min music marathons from 1pm to 4pm on thurs 16th october just yesterday on 2ca? I’m trying to track down a song sang by a woman probably in the 70s with an odd high pitched tone. I know it wasn’t the “oh i got a brand new..” one though.
