Canberra Survey 2 released

The second and final ratings for 2012 have been released in Canberra.

The analysis is below…

104.7 hold onto the #1 position for the 12th consecutive survey despite another drop. They were down 0.8 to 18.6%. Breakfast was up 0.9 to close the gap to the ABC (now 0.6 gap). Mornings were down 1.0, arvo's up 0.8 and drive down 0.4 but are all #1. Nights was up 2.3 and is now =#1 with ABC666. The demographics see them a clear #1 under 40 despite a 7.4 drop in 18-24, they had gains in 10-17 and 25-39.

After strong growth in Survey 1, Mix 106.3 retains #3 spot despite an overall drop of 2.7 (now 12.3%). They also had a 4.1 drop 25-39 and a 5.1 drop with 40-54's. Mornings and afternoons were significantly down with breakfast also dropping (12.3 to 7.6).

The Capital Network stations both recorded decreases in listening with 2CC down 0.4 to 8.3% (5th to 7th) and 2CA down 0.7 to 5.3%.

ABC666 retained #1 breakfast but dropped overall from 15.6% to 14.9% (still #2). Radio National and ABCFM were the big gainers at breakfast, with increases of 2.4 and 3.4 respectively. ABCFM also went up 2.6 overall to go from 7.4% to 10.0% and end up 5th just behind Triple J on 10.9%.
