BOOM Radio broadcasting live from Perth Royal Show

North Metropolitan TAFE’s BOOM Radio is returning to the IGA Perth Royal Show for another year.

Running from September 23 to 30 at Claremont Showgrounds, the student-operated radio station will conduct a live outdoor broadcast as well as providing a chill-out lounge and games for those visiting the Show. Attendees can also enter a raffle with the chance to win a record player. 

BOOM’s participation in the event follows on from the station’s three-day broadcast at Skills West Expo last month. Senior lecturer Annwen Burrows believes the students can implement and build on skills they picked up at Skills West and other previous events. 

“The Perth Royal Show is a great opportunity for the students to bring together all the skills they have learnt throughout the year at previous events such as the Skills West Expo,” she said.
