Bob Rogers calls time on 74-year career
2CH announcer Bob Rogers OAM has announced his retirement.
Bob started his career at Melbourne’s 3XY as an office boy in 1942 and has spent a cool 74 years in radio.
A true legend of the industry, Bob has been at 2CH since 1995.
He suffered a stroke on air six weeks ago but was determined to return to his listeners.
Bob revealed that his medical advice was that he hang up the headphones, and focus on listening to 2CH’s Easy Classic rather than keep broadcasting.
His final show will take place this Saturday Night on 2CH.
