Ben, Liam and a Facebook ban

triple j’s Breakfast duo Ben and Liam have run foul of Facebook, after going ‘full farmer’ in support of the Royal Flying Doctor Service Mental Health Unit.

The pair stripped down to nothing but their Akubras, a watering can and a bale of hay to help those farmers who’re struggling with mental health issues.

The picture was posted on the Instagram page for The Naked Farmer and was republished as a Facebook sponsored by their management.

And that’s where the trouble began. The post was removed by Facebook because it didn’t follow its Advertising Policies and contained either “excessive amounts of skin or suggestive content”.

It’s a decision that’s left the duo somewhat bemused with Ben telling newscom.au;

“We thought we covered most of the offending bits but obviously not.”

Facebook might be sticking with his ‘community standards’ defence, it’s ultimately brought more attention to the struggles faced by those within the agricultural sector.

Royal Flying Doctor Service Mental Health Unit is available 24 hours a day and can be contacted seven days a week on 300 887 678.
