Barry Bissell-hosted U2 music special gets bronze at NY Festivals

The Andy Wells Media-produced ‘Celebrating 30 years: U2 – The Joshua Tree’ received the bronze award at the New York Festivals international radio program awards.

Reflecting on the special, host Barry Bissell said the radio special was an enjoyable look at the breakthrough U2 album from 3 decades ago.

“Myself and the team (Andy and Jeff) are honoured to be recognised with such a prestigious international award, however also want to highlight the local response we had to this music special with 57 stations broadcasting across Australia during March that inspired amazing listener feedback,” he said.

The Grand Jury honoured RTÉ Ireland with the prestigious title of Broadcaster of Year and TBI Media UK with Production Company of the Year.

In addition, three global companies earned the coveted Grand Award: TBI Media United Kingdom, DMC Studio Argentina, and Behind the Wire and The Wheeler Centre Australia.

RTÉ Radio Ireland was in the spotlight taking home the renowned Broadcaster of the Year Award for their illustrious achievements; this is the fourth time that RTÉ has been honoured with this title.

The network earned an impressive 10 Gold Trophies, 8 Silver, 10 Bronze, and 12 Finalist Certificates.
