On The Frontline as a Police Reporter

Yvette Gray has been the frontline Police reporter for Melbourne’s number 1 station, 3AW. It’s a tough gig. You’re on call 24/7, you’re first at some of the most challenging and sometimes most gruesome news events that can set the agenda for the day.

We talk to Yvette about what goes into being on the frontline as a Police Reporter. After 8 years on the beat, how many close calls has she had?

What are some of the big stories that have affected her and have even had some of the most hardened homicide detectives in tears? And more, how do you cope when confronted by them?

We talk about how she covers the big news stories of the day on the road and the tools she is armed with to make it happen.

It’s been a ten year ride for Yvette at 3AW and this Friday is her last day with the station.

This is On The Frontline as a Police Reporter with 2015 Quill Award Winning Journalist, Yvette Gray.
