The broadcaster says his anger turned to shock and sadness and “wished to God” that his son had come to him to tell him he was battling mental health issues.

The 28 year old has been admitted to a clinic for treatment ahead of a court appearance next month. He’s been suspended from duty in the interim.

His father was a late withdrawal from 2GB Continuous Call Team’s Saturday show, citing “family matters”.

Hi Ray, this is a difficult time for you and your loved ones, it also maybe a great opportunity for you as a father and a professional broadcaster to be a beacon of light for drug & alcohol education / awareness and available treatment programs for people affected by drugs and alcohol.

You can do this!
