Alan Jones: “I’m alright from the neck up”

Staff Writer

Aussie battlers rejoice; shock jock Alan Jones will return to 2GB’s Pyrmont-based studio on Monday after a long recovery.

In November last year, he took an indefinite leave for multiple surgeries on his back, neck and arm. But chatting to Ray Hadley on Friday, Jones said his rehabilitation is going well and that he is – at the very least –  “alright from the neck up”.

Jones was expected to hit the airwaves again on March 6, but as previously reported, the talkback master prolonged his return until later this month.

“I do feel embarrassed, we’ve had so many false starts,” Jones joked to Hadley on-air at the time.

Hadley has covered Jones’ shift and his own in recent weeks, on-air for 5½-hours every weekday between 5.30am to 11am.

The 2GB breakfast slot suffered a further loss of 1.6 in last week’s survey results, albeit less that the 2.4 share points that disappeared in survey eight last year.
