Alan Jones stuffs up ‘2GB For Me’ promo

Former Assistant Editor

Alan Jones has butchered 2GB’s latest cash promo, accidentally telling a listener they had won $2,000.

To win, listeners must answer the phone with “2GB For Me” or “4BC For Me” within the first five rings.

Joanna from Blackhurst failed to answer the phone with “2GB For Me”, but Alan got a bit over-excited.

“Is that Joanna? Joanna from Blackhurst! You’ve won two thousand bucks!” Alan says, before pausing.

“Oh… ohhh sh.. I’m sorry,” he continues. “You actually didn’t. Did I get it wrong? They’re all frowning at me now. Joanna you were supposed to say 2GB For Me.”

“We’re going to cheat here. It’s the Alan Jones Show, I make the rules,” Alan says, before he’s told categorically by Ross that Joanna can’t just have the money.

Not giving up there, Alan later got on the blower with his mate Ray Hadley, and together they decided to chip in and make things right by giving their own money to Joanna.

“You and I are going to put in, this is nothing to do with the competition,” says Ray.

For those of you who still think presenters are little people inside your radio, Jones & Hadley ‘giving their own money’ to the listener WAS THE PROMO, sheeple!

The ABC on foreign correspondent did an article about closing black coal mines in Germany. I contacted them saying to ensure that they include the fact that Germany has 7 nuclear plants they strangely did not mention anything about the plants.
