A group of AFTRS students studying a Graduate Diploma of Radio have launched their third pop-up radio station for 2018, aptly named AFTRS FM.

Focusing on original talk and current affairs content, the station will broadcast around Australia through the iHeartRadio app and the AFTRS FM website.

The entire project is curated and produced by the class of 2018 with the music program focusing on indie/alternative, pop and rock/classic rock genres, while also highlighting Indigenous acts.

“Over 20% of AFTRS FM music is by Australian Indigenous artists, including Baker BoyEmily WurramaraBusby Marou, Apakatjah and more. Students are passionate about supporting homegrown music,” AFTRS Head of Radio, Fyona Smith says.

Programming will also feature a series of radio plays produced by AFTRS Screenwriting students.
