The ABC has launched live streaming of the remaining 19 regional stations in its regional radio network.

The addition of these stations brings the ABC’s roll-out of live streaming to 42 regional sites in total.

The stations to be added are for Wollongong, Lismore, Wagga Wagga, Orange, Tamworth, Bega, Coffs Harbour, Maroochydore, Bundaberg, Townsville, Rockhampton, Mackay, Albany, Geraldton, Esperance, Mount Gambier, Port Lincoln, Remark and Shepparton.

“Listeners to all our stations – whether they are in our major capital cities or in remote regional areas –  will now have access to our content on-the-go,” said director of ABC regional and rural Michael Mason.

Mason added that the completion of the work marked a major milestone for ABC Radio.

“Making our live content available online or through an app extends our audience reach significantly and gives expats and family members living outside their communities the means to connect,” he said.

“This can be particularly important in times of emergencies.”

All the stations can be found at the ABC Radio website, and on the ABC Listen App.
